CyberCloud Becomes VMware Cloud Verified Partner in Nigeria

CyberCloud, a Lagos-based cloud solution provider, has entered into the VMware Cloud Provider Program (VCPP).

CyberCloud, which was created to provide hosting on virtual service, launched the anchor product which runs on the VMware platform, to provide businesses in Nigeria with world class security and unparalleled cloud services.

As a member of the VCPP programme, CyberCloud will now provide enterprises with VMware IaaS powered service as a set of cloud computing services across a common platform, using proven VMware technology.

The VCPP program provides global cloud services and the choice of local VMware VCPP partners in more than 100 countries globally.

“The CyberCloud platform is a public cloud service and is fully compatible with customers’ own VMware environments built on vSphere®, the leading virtualization platform for building cloud infrastructures”, said the Head of Business at CyberCloud, Laurel Onumonu.

During an exclusive chat with BizTechAfrica, Dave Funnell, senior manager, Cloud Providers at VMware, confirmed that CyberCloud is now a verified VMware partner in Nigeria. He added that VMWare is prepared to support the new partner to deliver bespoke services to organisations with a simple, flexible and rapid path to the cloud.

Funnell affirmed that as a VMware VCPP Service Provider, CyberCloud is uniquely positioned to provide users with enhanced responsiveness and agility, and enable reduced IT costs through greater performance, availability and scalability.

When asked about VMware’s renewed bid to play bigger in the Nigerian and African markets, he said, “What we’re doing is providing freedom of choice to businesses. Businesses in Nigeria can now  consume cloud resources on a self-service fashion from one of the local players – CyberCloud.

“What it means is that CyberCloud is now validated by VMWare, and I think that’s very important. Businesses in Nigeria can move to the cloud through the support of this local provider.  This will solve a lot of challenges for enterprises that are struggling to scale but could ill-afford the cloud services in the past. VMWare has been in the Nigerian market for some time, but expects business to pick up as confidence in cloud services grows, and infrastructural and connectivity challenges are overcome.
